preparing images for the web guide

Once you have taken a picture of your artwork and transfered it to your computer you will need to edit the image using image editing software. Photoshop is an excellent package to edit photos with however there are many others you can use too - more details below.

4 main requirements will be neccesary.

1. Straighten
Make the artwork level and straight.

2. Adjust the lightness and/ or contrast
Many photos are too dark. It is often best to lighten the image slightly.

2. Crop the image
This means cutting out unwanted areas of your image and getting rid of the background
It decreases the file size and helps visitors to focus on your  image.

3. Size the picture
Resize your picture to a height of no more than 300 pixels or a width of no more than 300 pixels. Tell it to resample and constrain proportions. (Don't try to take a little picture and resize it bigger because this will result in loss of quality)

If you are not sure what to do or need help then please email your images to info@artstudioe.com and we will edit your images for you and email them back to you.
